Position Overview
The Director of Finance will oversee all financial aspects of AuditMiner, including financial planning, risk management, and financial reporting. The role demands a strategic thinker who can manage complex financial tasks, oversee legal and regulatory compliance, and lead the transition from cash to accrual accounting. The successful candidate will also play a pivotal role in managing relationships with HR consultants and overseeing insurance and legal matters.
Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy: Develop and refine financial strategies in alignment with the company’s goals. Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare detailed budgets and financial forecasts. Oversee the allocation of funds to maximize operational efficiency and company growth.
- Financial Reporting: Maintain accurate financial records and prepare clear and accurate reports for senior management. Transition the company’s accounting practices from cash basis to accrual basis reporting and prepare for GAAP compliance as the company scales.
- Cost Management: Develop cost models and optimize spending to support company strategies. Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement them effectively.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior executives to make informed economic decisions. Provide insightful information and expectations to company leaders to aid in long-term and short-term decision-making.
- HR Consultant Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison with external HR consultants to ensure that employment policies, compensation strategies, and other HR practices align with financial strategies and legal standards.
- Tax and R&D Accounting Collaboration: Oversee and facilitate the relationship with external and R&D tax accountants to ensure accurate tax planning and compliance, as well as to maximize potential R&D tax credits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Director of Finance or similar role, particularly in the technology or SaaS sectors.
- Expertise in corporate finance, risk management, and transition from cash to accrual accounting.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in financial software and MS Office; experience with accounting software and databases.
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field. CPA or other relevant qualification is highly advantageous.
